ERP and E-Commerce Integration

The Challenge

Modernize and integrate disparate business systems. Nutricia’s e-Commerce platform, CRM, ERP and Accounting systems were disparate and fragmented. They didn’t speak to one another and had to be supported through manual processes like file exports and manual data entry. Not only was this extremely inefficient and not scalable, but also very error prone. When errors occurred, it took significant time an effort to track things down. With business growing rapidly, this needed to be addressed urgently.
“I can’t say enough about the excellent work that the team at Enterprise64 has done on our E-commerce solution. They took a broken, manual system and transformed it into a modern seamless workflow that is already yielding dividends. It was an absolute pleasure to work with the team on this initiative. They understood our business challenged and came up with a balanced strategy. Overall, the team far surpassed my expectations. We are looking forward to working with them on future projects. Anyone seeking a reference can call me anytime. ” – VP Engineering

The Solution

Working with business and technical leaders, we created a strategy that provided end-to-end integration – from the inception of online orders to the fulfillment and tracking for B2B and B2C customers and the accounting systems. Since the legacy e-commerce system was custom-built, dated and not extensible, this strategy started with first migrating to a new modern COTS E-commerce platform in parallel to the existing one. A completely new workflow management system was also implemented, creating a seamless, error free, scalable, unified process.

Technical solution & Technology stack

The new platform was built on a .Net StoreFront and Znode framework to rapidly stand up parallel e-commerce capability. Integration between processes was achieved through a customized Enterprise Service Bus implementation, custom APIs, platform APIs, SAP Enterprise Messaging and Webhooks to maximize flexibility and scalability. A custom web interface was also created to provide easy management of the end-to-end workflow and reporting.
